Everything on this site is somewhere we have been: a taverna we go back to, a beach worth the drive, a mountain village that is better in October than in August. It is not a directory, and it is not trying to list everything on the island.
Cyprus gets written about in two registers: the package-holiday brochure and the archaeology textbook. Both miss the bit in between, which is where people actually spend their time: long lunches, back roads, and the hour before sunset when the light goes the colour of the stone.
How places get chosen
There is one test: would we send a friend? Nothing is included because it paid to be, and nothing is left out because it did not. Places we have stopped rating get removed rather than quietly downgraded.
How this is paid for
Some links to hotels, tours, car hire and transfers earn a small commission when you book through them, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what appears here or the order it appears in. If that ever stopped being true, this page would be the first thing to change.
